| Guidelines for Development
of Namaste Nepal Community Association’s (NNCA)
Programs:
Identity: NNCA (Namaste Radio)
is a registered non-profit Nepalese Canadian
Community Media Organization without any religious,
political and governmental affiliation.
We are working towards registering it a Charity
Organization.
Namaste Radio Team shall try its best to meet
the expectation of its audience and at the same
time maintain the identity of the organization.
Points below are guiding principles for developing
programs to be aired.
- Any program to be aired by NNCA, shall reflect
the identity of the organization
- Programs shall be related to NNCA’s purpose
- NNCA shall not air any program that majority
of Nepalese people do not want . To know the
choice of our listeners NNCA shall conduct
opinion surveys of members and selected non-members
- NNCA shall carefully determine the appropriateness
of programs before airing
- NNCA shall categorize its audiences into
children, youths and adults. Accordingly the
programs shall be entertaining, educational,
intellectual, informative and inspirational
- Music, news, events, interviews, quiz contests,
singing contests, children and youth debates,
etc. shall be considered suitable programs
to be developed and aired by NNCA
- NNCA shall announce events organized by
Nepalese Community Organizations or the Nepalese
people. However, NNCA expects at least one
weeks notice in advance for convenience
- NNCA shall interview only prominent personalities;
personalities that inspire. Stories of success,
leadership, good deed, outstanding writing,
musical talent, will power and character shall
be considered inspirational
- Every developed program shall be scrutinized
and passed by the Program Development Team
before its broadcasting
- It is clear and understood that NNCA does
not and shall not have affiliation with any
political or religious cause
- NNCA shall commit itself to democratic values.
It shall also commit to values like honesty,
integrity, diversity, creativity and excellence
in service
- Language (Nepali or English) for the program shall depend on the target audience
The above Principles have been passed by the Board of Directors on the 18 day of June, 2006 and as of this date NNCA (Namaste Radio) shall adhere to the above principles while developing and broadcasting each and every program. In case a difficult situation arises, a special meeting of the Board shall be called to decide and resolve the issue.
